About Us

Heybridge Pre-School is a charity supported pre-school which accepts children from the age of 2. Heybridge Pre-school provides care and early education for children between two and five years old, in 3 hour sessions, during term time. Your child will become funded by the government the term after your child’s 3rd birthday for 15 hours per week.

Children are cared for by a team of enthusiastic and committed qualified staff, and the pre-school is regularly inspected by Ofsted. Parents can expect their children to receive very good education, fun and social interaction, adapted for each child’s needs.

Heybridge Pre-school has its own building with spacious outside play areas, on a plot leased from Heybridge Primary School.

Heybridge Pre-school is the only provider of Early Years Education in Heybridge and Heybridge Basin. The Pre-School provides a vital service to local families who would otherwise have no access to early years education for their children, or have to use expensive Day Nurseries or Pre-schools in Maldon, 2 miles away.

We have a hugely committed staff and a dedicated team of parent volunteers and committee members without whose support, the Pre-school would not be here.

Our Mission

Heybridge Pre-school aims to provide a safe and caring environment where young children will learn and grow through play. We recognise that each child is different and unique and plan their care and education accordingly. We aim to promote children’s overall development, equipping them with the skills to deal with life within & outside the pre-school and preparing them for school life. Heybridge Pre-school strives to be responsive to the needs of our community. As the only Early Years provision in Heybridge, Heybridge Pre-school has a responsibility to secure the future of the pre-school to ensure that this valuable service is retained for future generations. With this in mind, we have recently moved into our new purpose built premises which provides:

The Management Committee of Heybridge Pre-school Association aims to ensure that the pre-school is managed and run effectively and that it complies with all legal and Ofsted requirements. In addition the Management Committee aims to provide an effective fundraising programme, to engage parents to ensure a continuing active management committee is in place and ongoing volunteer support is forthcoming.
